Prior knowledge

  •        Procedure of buying and selling

  • Money (rf) 

Objective:By the end of the lesson students will be able to tell  and write 2 import and export product and tell difference between import and export.       

Sharing time (15 minutes)

  • Greeting

  • Reading dua

  • Reciting quran

  • Can give time to share students their stories with the teacher.

Day 1

·         Put the product which is imported goods in one table and in another table exported goods.

·         After that can explain the difference between import and export for the students.

·         Buying things from other countries is importing. For example, can show the things on the table such as broccoli, apple, phone

·         Selling things to another countries is exporting.  For example: fish, fish can

·         After that can show a rf and a dollar to students

·         Ask the students what is it?

·         There will be different answers.

·         A gifted child might know the difference of dollar and rf but normal child might not.

·         Teacher can explain the student each and every country has a currency.

·         For example, in Maldives we use rf. In America they use dollar. In India they use rupees.

Working station

·         Students has to recognize the imported and exported goods ( understanding)

·         Draw and name imported goods and exported goods

Day 2
  •  Teachers can take the student to supermarket
  • From the supermarket provide a person to give information about the product.

  • Such as how they bring the products, price, which currencies they use to buy products ...etc

  • Give opportunity for students to ask question

  • a gifted child might be very curious to ask question. 

  • Tell the student each and every product there will be manufactured country written on it.

  • Let them touch things and check the products.

  • From the supermarket also can show the rf and dollar to students and how it is used. For example 1 dollar is 15.42 rf.

Work

Ask the student to note the price, name of the product and manufactured country. 

Day 3 

Ask the questions about the visit to supermarket.

The students will recall and tell them what they did and what they learn from previous day lesson(remembering)

Before starting the class, teacher can arrange different areas in the classroom. Such as 3 shop in the classroom. For example, fruit shop, electronic shop, retail shop (applying / analyzing)

Divide the students into 3 groups

1.      Shop keepers’

2.      Dollar exchanging people

3.      Customers

Let them play a role play. Moreover, they can use paper money to buy the products.

At the end teacher can ask the students to categorize the imported goods and exported goods. 

Day 4 (Evaluating and creating) 

Divide the students into 4 groups.

Give them to make a poster to the topic.

They can include in the poster (imported and exported goods/ currencies/ and their ideas for international economic trade)

Within 4 groups they can compare their posters and support other groups ideas.

Closure (15 minutes )

At the closure let them talk and discuss about the topic international economic trade (import and export)

Teacher can ask questions related to the lesson.

Ø  What is import and export

Ø  Which currency Maldivian people use

Ø  What are the ways we can improve to sell the products?
