Materials: shape card, similar object, basket, worksheet, peg board, rubber, clay

Prior knowledge

  • Names of the shape

  • Some similar shape

  • Counting

  • Number identification

Objective: By the end of the lesson students will be able to identify least 6 the similar shapes (rectangle, square, circle, triangle, oval, heart, star), and write the at least 4 names of the shape.

Sharing time (20 minute )

  • Greeting

  • Reading dua

  • Reciting quran

  • Time to share students’ stories

  • Talking about previous lesson

  • Sing a song related to shapes (Musical/Rhythmic Intelligence  )

  • Integrated to topic, asking to students to tell what shapes they can see from  home/school environment (Naturalist Intelligence)

Introduction (25 minutes )

·         To introduce the lesson teacher can play a game related to shapes.

·         Name of the game “shape treasure” ( Bodily/Kinesthetic Intelligence  )

·         Hide different similar shape objects in the compound area.

·         Take the students to the compound area

·         Gives instruction about the game.

·         Divide the students into two groups. the group students will decide who will go first. ( Interpersonal Intelligence  

·          From each group one student can participate at a time

·         First the teacher will show a shape card, the students have to find the similar object and put the similar object into the basket.

·         students will be able to bring one shape at a time

·         for a gifted or a talented students the teacher will not show the shape, teacher will tell, for example: “I have 4 sides and 4 corners! Who am I! 

  • The students has has to think and find the object. 

·         And will count the number of similar shapes which are there in the basket (Logical-mathematical Intelligence)

·         Paste the number card in the basket

·         Likewise, the game will continue ( each student will get 1 minute)


Main Activity (30 minutes)

 There will be 3 corners. Each group there will be 5 students. Teacher will give the instructions about the lesson.  In all corner there will be 3 level of the students. High level, average level and the lower level of students. all the students will participate in every corners. 

Creative Corner  (Bodily/Kinesthetic Intelligence  )

Level 1

Students has to make their favorite shape using clay write the name using clay

Level 2

Students has to make their favorite shape using clay and write the name of the shapes by looking at flash card

Level 3

Students has to make their favorite shape using clay and write the name of the shapes on the flash card

Working station

Level : 1

·         Draw and write the names of similar shape!

Level: 2

·         Read and Draw the similar shape!

Level: 3

·         Draw the similar shape!

Manipulative corner

There will be 5 peg board in the manipulative corner. Students has to make shapes using peg board and rubber band 

Closure(15 minutes )

At the closure each student has to present the shape that  they had made in the creative corner. (Verbal/Linguistic Intelligence  ) (Intrapersonal Intelligence)
